Nels Peterson Cruises To Victory in Gold Rush 2 National Final
Nels Peterson did it. The hottest player in the Free Poker Network continued his amazing run and padded his already impressive league resume with a National Championship, outlasting the 23 other players who gathered for the exclusive $20,000 cash finale at the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas. Nels cherished the moment when he realized it was all over, clutching the national championship trophy and taking a moment to let it sink in. For Nels, nothing but first place was his goal, having come so close in the past (2009 Fall Spectacular Runner Up - WSOP Circuit Caesars Palace).
The runner up was Nevada champ Jim Hudson who played great poker but fell just short when Nels hit a King on the river to crack Jim's pocket Queens in the final hand. See our twitter page for the live updates.
Complete results and more details from the fun weekend in Vegas will be posted shortly. Also, pictures will be uploaded to our facebook page.
