The lone two Missouri players in a field of 94 had an excellent showing at the HPT Dream Package National Championship recently. Both Jimmy Greenwell and Bill Hough made it into the top 30 to win a private FPN qualifier the following day. Unfortunately, neither was able to win a HPT main event seat, but both played some excellent poker all weekend and showed how well poker is played in Missouri.

Congratulations to Trent Beebe and John Graham who recently won the Missouri State Championship. Both players have won their spot in the 100 WSOP National Championship on June 29th in Las Vegas and both are guaranteed a WSOP buy-in the following day. Depending on how each do at the National Championship will depend which size WSOP buy they receive. Congrats and good luck at Nationals!

Bill Hough (Pictured left) who was at the Sin City Showdown National Championship who after getting knocked out vowed to return has made his goal a reality. Bill was able to win the Missouri Vegas or Bust State Championship recently winning his spot at the National Championship on July 4th along with an airfare allowance and a free hotel stay at Hooters Casino. Joining Bill will be Dennis Hestand (pictured right) who came in second. Both players will take their shot at winning one of twelve seats into this years World Series of Poker.

Dennis Hestand from Clinton, MO was a dominate force in the recent Vegas or Bust National Championship. Altogether there were 99 competitors that came from 19 different states to Las Vegas at the MGM poker room. Dennis played solid poker all day and came in seventh place to win himself a $1,000 seat into the World Series of Poker Event #59 the following day. The top eleven players all won a seat into Event #59 with the overall winner also receiving a $10,000 Main Event Seat. Altogether over $22,000 in cash and prizes were awarded and Dennis was able to get a piece of that.

Terri Cummings also known as the lady in red recently won the Missouri State Championship. Terri who wears red while playing poker because it's her lucky color continued the heater she's on by placing first at the State Championship. For her win Terri also won the airfare allowance and hotel stay at Harrah's. Coming in second place was Jimmy Greenwell, both players have qualified for the National Championship in Las Vegas on December 3rd.
