Nice article from the local paper Pine Island Record highlighting Jan Ryks and Andy Holt from the Pine Island American Legion qualifying for FPN's Cash King National Championship.
The Legion plays their game on Friday nights with about 30 players in attendance, here is a link to the February Leaderboard.
Saturday November 16, 2019 Players from all over Minnesota gathered at Running Aces to take part in the MN State Championship. 230 players qualified, 53 earned double stacks. 184 players registered looking to qualify for Nationals in Las Vegas. 28 players qualified through the main event and Tracy and Rob qualified by winning the 2nd chance Tag Team tournament. The top 5 players also received travel cash! 14 players qualified as alternates!

Quinn is hosting a food and clothing drive, and he has committed to dress in the tutu at nationals in Vegas if he reaches his goal of collecting/donating 2000 articles of clothing and food. The fields keep growing and getting to tougher former National champ Joel Smith and his fiancee Nikki both qualified for Vegas AGAIN!!!! The poker power couple have gone to Vegas twice a year for the last 5 years, with one or both of them qualified!
You may have also seen Nels Peterson hanging around. Nels has not had much time to play, but he still has love for FPN, Nels and is a proud papa, his son, Tyler Peterson qualified for state, but came just short of his golden ticket. Nels daughter, Emma Peterson is currently point leader at Danny's dugout, for the world series or bust promotion. His kids have some big shoes to fill as Nels is a 6 time state champ and a nationals champ. Nels said that he will still be Vegas at Nationals to support his FPN family.
