{sidebar id=8}On Saturday, February 20th players from all around the state of Nebraska filed into The Depot in Norfolk to see who would become the next Nebraska Poker League State Champion. A total of 67 people showed up with dreams of being the last man or woman standing. There were many hopefuls and some past champions looking to win their second championship. The action began at 1 pm sharp and a crowd of spectators began filing in soon after.
Congratulations to the 82 qualifiers in the Free Poker Network’s Fall Spectacular Nebraska State Championship! Starting at 1 pm this Saturday, February 20th, these 82 lucky players will hit the tables at Norfolk’s The Depot for a chance to win a seat in our exclusive Fall Spectacular National Championship in Las Vegas—including an airfare and hotel package for three-nights in fabulous Las Vegas and a tournament buy-in to a WSOP Circuit Event at Caesar’s Palace.
There were five qualifiers from the state of Nebraska that showed up in Las Vegas at the Palms Casino to play in the Party at the Palms National Championship. On the line were 21 $1,500 packages. In the end three of the five qualifiers from Nebraska were able to claim their own $1,500 package crowning themselves the newest of the Free Poker Networks champions. They were Cole Zentner (pictured) from The Max in Wayne, Dave Jensen from Double T's in Columbus, and Charlie Woods from Stu's Bar in Hoskins.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!! An early fall snowfall blanketed the North Platte area, making this championship a memorable one. Fortunately, a lot of players came in the night before to take advantage of the warm-up tourney where well over $200 in cash was given away.
79 players from Nebraska qualified for this regional championship and the overall winner, Dave Schuett, a local player from the Touchdown Club, earned himself a $2,000 package to play in the televised Heartland Poker Tour Red Rock Casino main event, airfare, and 4 nights at the beautiful Red Rock casino this January.
