On Saturday October 1st Kathy Westman (kwest1962) from North Platte, NE was the latest winner to qualify for the Poker Pro National Championship on December 4th. Along with her seat in the National Championship she won airfare allowance and a hotel stay at Harrah's Casino in Las Vegas. Ironically Kathy went heads up against Jeff Henne (idahored) who also hails from North Platte, NE for the win. For his second place effort Jeff won himself an I-Pod Shuffle. There is still one more online chance to qualify for the Poker Pro National Championship on November 1st, make sure to be using up your gamecards.
Recently Jeff Miller from the MVP Lounge won the Sin City Showdown National Championship and on July 24th the MVP Lounge hosted the Eastern Nebraska Regional. If you have attended your regional you know there have been scratch cards that have been given out. The MVP Lounge must be one lucky place right now as Michael Carnes from Wayne, NE scratched his way to Las Vegas at the Regional. Michael got quad 4's in seven attempts to become the fourth scratch off winner!
Jeff Miller and Jeff Schulz were the big winners in the Nebraska Poker League championship over the weekend, both of whom have previously won World Series of Poker seats through the league (2008 and 2007 respectively)...

Jeff Miller from Omaha, NE is no stranger to winning and he has proved that multiple times now. Jeff is a former champion from the first Destination Las Vegas promotion and now joins an elite group of two time champions. Recently Jeff took on 74 players in Las Vegas at the Sin City National Championship, but was able to outlast them all winning the recognition of being FPN's new National Champion. Jeff also won a buyin to WSOP event number 54 and the WSOP Main Event! He will hold the title for the next six months and will have one gigantic trophy to remember his experience.
76 players from around the state have qualified for this championship tournament. The top 4 players earn a seat in the Sin City Showdown National Final on July 2nd in Las Vegas.
Players to watch: Sue Hassebrook had the most points in the state in one quarter, racking up 2,415 points in the Winter quarter. Glenn Neighbors is the reigning state champ who faired well in the Gold Rush 2 promotion, placing 4th at the national final and taking home $1,250 CASH. Larry Culhane, Charlie Woods, Travis Tunick, Glen Nichols, Brandon Schrotberger, Jeff Miller and Jeff Shultz all have won previously making this the toughest championship field ever!
