Wisconsin Championship - Desert Heat

On Saturday, September 26th, the next HPT Red Rock seat was awarded at the Wisconsin State Championship held at the Doll House in Hammond, WI.  Forty-one players were all wishing they were going to be the next to win this awesome package to Las Vegas!

The tournament started right at 2 O'clock and we didn't lose the first player for an hour and a half.  We knew we would be in for some great poker.  Four time championship qualifier Dale Hjelmgren from the Outer Limits was off to a great start as he chipped up quickly by making some aggressive moves early and nearly doubling up in the first hour of play.

South Dakota Desert Heat Championship

{sidebar id=8} On Saturday, September 19^th, players from all over the state of South Dakota came together at Borrowed Bucks Roadhouse in Sioux Falls to see who th e next two South Dakota champions would be for the HPT Desert Heat promotion.  Cards were in the air a little after noon as 108 players started what would turn into over a 10 hour grind to crown th e next two Grand Prize winners. The anticipation was high as it took only 38 minutes to lose the first player.

First Two Winners of Desert Heat Crowned

The first two of 25 Grand Prize winners from this summers Desert Heat promotion have been awarded.  Congratulations to Jim Deuschel (pictured right) from Delta, Colorado as he won the state championship at Hoolie's Bar which was held on Tuesday, August 18th.  Jim battled for four hours taking home the first place prize and became the first ever Free Poker Network winner from Colorado!  A husband and wife couple Jeff Matthews and Dee Dee Mathews came in second and third, respectively. 

The second winner to claim one of the Desert Heat packages was Josh Korbl from Thief River Falls, MN.  Josh outlasted a field of 116 players and won the first of two online championships on Sunday, August 23rd.  To qualify for the online championships make sure to redeem your Desert Heat gamecards on our online software.
