National Champion Troy Demann is going back to Vegas very soon as he will sit down and play in the biggest poker tournament of the year, the World Series of Poker Main Event. Troy will sit down on Sunday at noon vegas time, 2pm Central time to test his luck and become the next instant poker pro. Follow along on our facebook page for updates on Sunday. Congratulations to Steve Gilbertson who won the April perfect attendance drawing. For showing up all five weeks at the Wadena Elks Lodge, Steve has won a $150 tournament buy-in into a Dakota Poker Tour event.
This weekend at Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN FPN will hold the Minnesota State Championship which is the LARGEST state championship we hold. Altogether there are 221 qualifiers from all over the state. There will be 20 new state champions this weekend. All twenty people will qualify for the Ultimate Poker Fantasy National Championship on Saturday, June 7th at the Golden Nugget in fabulous Las Vegas. As a bonus we will be doing a side game freeroll at 6pm for any busted players or spectators where we will give another National Championship seat away for a total of 21 new qualifiers.
Kyle Krense from Minnesota recently won the FPN May 1st online monthly tournament. Kyle is friends with the January 1st winner Troy Demann and was already playing on coming to Vegas with Troy. Now Kyle will get his shot in the National Championship as well. All together there were 127 players in the tournament and Kyle didn't end up winning till 2am, but he said, "It made for a long night and an early morning, but it was totally worth it!"
Congratulations to Clayton Robison from Fergus Falls, MN who plays at the Z103 Bar & Grill. Clayton was drawn for the monthly two pair or better drawing. He turned in exactly two pair with a pair of eights and a pair of queen's. Clayton is now qualified for the National Championship in Las Vegas on June 7th!
