Pitchers Pub has done it again -- adding yet another Wisconsin State Champion to its roster of winners! This time it's Dan Stone (pictured right) who managed to secure his seat in the upcoming Gold Rush 2 National Championship event after taking down the state championship this past weekend (Nov 13) at his home bar in Madison. Maybe it was his "home bar advantage," maybe it was his stellar poker skills, maybe it was lady luck, maybe it was a combination of the three, but after a two-and-a-half-hour heads-up match against former champ from Don's Market John Verhangen (pictured left), Stone took home the grand prize package and will be headed to Las Vegas next month to play in our exclusive 26 person National Championship where $20,000 in cash will be on the line! We look forward to seeing you there!
The Free Poker Network is PROUD to crown Wisconsin’s first female state champion after an incredible run at the final table this past Saturday, May 15th, at Pitchers Pub in Madison, WI. Congratulations to Ann Richardson of Madison (Pitchers Pub), WI, who will be entering event #54 of the World Series of Poker this July 2nd at the Rio in Las Vegas. Ann will also be playing in the FPN National Championship held at Caesar’s Palace the night before and she has a 1 in 25 chance of making it to the 10k MAIN EVENT at the WSOP later that month. Ann said, “The WI State Championship Tournament was the most exciting poker event she has ever been in!” We here at the Free Poker Network say, “Ann, hold on tight, because you haven’t seen anything yet!”

poker. Four time championship qualifier Dale Hjelmgren from
the Outer Limits was off to a great start as he chipped up quickly by making some
aggressive moves early and nearly doubling up in the first hour of play.

At the Party at the Palms National Championship at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas on June 28th, Dale Hjelmgren from the Outer Limits in New Richmond took his seat trying to become one of the newest 21 FPN grand prize winners. He played in a sit-n-go where the top three at his table would win a $1,500 package. Unfortunately for Dale he wasn't able to win during the first try, but he still had another chance. There was a second tournament where the top three players in a four-table, 30 person tournament would win the last of $1,500 packages.
Dale played great poker and finished in the top three winning himself a $1,500 package. Not only did Dale become the one of the newest FPN champions, he also got to see Las Vegas like a highroller as the National Championship was held in the Kingpin and Erotic Suites on the 25th floor. Check out the view behind him looking at the Rio.
