Starters Lanes Hosts South Dakota Final
The final two players with chip stacks at the end of championship play will win a spot at the exclusive Free Poker Network National Championship to be held this April at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. As part of the Fall Spectacular Promotion Package, a total of 25 players throughout the Free Poker Network will receive a tournament buy-in to a WSOP Circuit Event at Caesar’s with the overall winner receiving a $5,000 WSOP Circuit Main Event seat. Play well, and you could join the other 12 lucky players that have already been awarded spots at the national championship!
For those unlucky players who bust early, there will still be plenty of poker action throughout the day to keep you busy. Starting at approximately 5 pm, “busters” can join spectators to compete in a fun Tag Team Re-buy $200 Freeroll Event. We tried out this new freeroll format at our North Dakota Fall Spectacular State Championship with great success, and this time, we’re offering South Dakota players a chance to get in on the tag team action as well. During this side game, players will join together in a tag-team format with an interesting twist: Each team will get a “re-buy” card. When a team loses its chips, it will receive a starting chip stack. This is sure to be a very entertaining event!
So, who will beat the odds this Sunday when the action begins? Only lady luck knows, but be sure to watch out for these veritable players:
• Alex Buse: Alex had the most points in one session, accumulating 946 points at Shenanigan’s Pub.
• Glenn Schaefers: Glen had the most points combined in both sessions—an astounding 1639.
• Jake Obermeier: Jake is a four-time qualifier at state championships and is one of the reigning South Dakota champions, winning a $2,000 package during the Desert Heat promotion.
• Monte Evans: Monte’s looking to use his home-bar advantage during this championship and is a solid player who always goes deep in championship events.
• Eric Tycz & Brad Bradten: Both Eric and Brad are former champions looking to join the exclusive club of two-time grand champions.
Of course, there are many other sharks looking to take home one of the two grand prizes during this championship event. Come out and see how it all goes down this Sunday, February 21, at Starters Lanes and Sport Bar in Redfield. Until then, may lady luck be on your side!
