Steve Fugelstad Wins FPN Online TOC
On Sunday over 110 Tournament of Champion Winners logged onto FPN Online for their shot at a spot in the Sin City Showdown National Championship. All 110 players won their respective bars TOC to get to this point so it was a no holds barred tournament with the crème de la crème.
Steve Fuglestad from Hope, ND was the eventual winner. Steve had qualified by winning the TOC at the Hope Sports Bar. He went heads up vs. LeRoy Turner the TOC winner from the Knickerbocker Liquor Locker in Hickson ND for the victory. Steve played a great short stack tourament taking a hit early. He was all in a lot according to him, but won every all in picking the right time to do it. This gave him momentum to the end of the tournament finding the big hands at the right time.
Steve knew that the tournament was getting closer to the end in the winner take all bout, but didn't realize how close he was to the prize. He wondered why it was taking so long to move players to his table until he checked out the tournament stats and realized there was only him and three other players left in the tournament. Even know with the pressure on Steve was able to keep his composure and take it down becoming only the second TOC winner in FPN history behind Dustin Gulbrandson back in 2006.
Steve's family is no stranger to winning as previous champion Joyce Whitemore is his mother-in-law. Joyce is special to the league because back in 2007 she won a WSOP Main Event seat and she still holds the record of any FPN player to last the longest in the Main Event of the WSOP. Joyce almost made it to day three playing over 25 hours in two days before busting.
