Nebraska Qualifies Four To Vegas
On Oct 15th Michael Carnes (far left) and Kip Koch (second from left) were the big winners, with Charlie Woods (second in from right) and Larry Hansen (far right) also securing their spots in the FPN Poker Pro final on December 3rd. Ironically going into the tournament Michael Carnes had already solidified his spot in the National Championship by making 4 of a kind on a Scratch Poker card earlier this season. Now with his big win at the Nebraska State Tournament he will have a double stack at the national final!
On a warm sunny day in Lincoln, NE 65 players out of a possible 71 turned out to Drifters pool room. The excitement was in the air as four people were going to win their spots in the National Championship with the top two winning airfare allowance and hotel stay at Harrah’s on the strip. Throughout the whole tournament Tony Schiefer from the Double T bar in Columbus was dominating the tournament with a monster chip stack through the early and middle part of the day.
However Tony was not able to hang on and missed out on the final table which ended up looking like this:

In the end Michael Carnes and Kip Koch were the big winners winning airfare allowance and a hotel stay on the strip. Charlie Woods and Larry Hansen were also winners securing their spots in the National Championship on December 3rd. Ironically going into the tournament Michael Carnes had already solidified his spot in the National Championship by scratching off four of a kind, now with his big win at the Nebraska State Tournament he will have a double stack going into the National Championship. Not to be outdone, Charlie Woods is a previous champion during the Party at the Palms Promotion and looks to join the elusive two time winners group.
